The results show that the extent to which fixed network providers deliver on their advertising promises only partly depends on the broadband technology.
Telefónica has a similarly high share of the DSL market as Deutsche Telekom but turns in a weaker performance, while fibre optics specialist Deutsche Glasfaser only achieves an “adequate” rating.
It would be helpful if providers could get out of the habit of promising high data rates during the customer acquisition phase, only to then renege on these pledges when it comes to everyday operation.
