Dead zone app installed more than half a million times and more than 450 million test points recorded

The broadband measurement dead zone app is enjoying increasing popularity. Since its launch in October 2018, the app has been installed more than 500,000 times by users. In total, more than 450 million test points have been recorded so far.

About 75 per cent of the test points are based on 4G technology. LTE (4G) has also become by far the defining technology in the past few months, although the number of 5G test points has increased in line with the expansion of the network by operators and now constitutes the second most common category.

The recorded test points are incorporated into a map to depict network availability. The underlying data in the map is available for download and is updated quarterly. The broadband measurement dead zone app was developed by zafaco GmbH for the Federal Network Agency. You can use the broadband measurement dead zone app/Funkloch-App to measure the current network availability of your mobile network and hence detect any dead zones.
