For business customers, small and medium-sized enterprises and private users, a reliable and powerful web hosting environment is now essential for the smooth use of modern internet services.
Since websites have a wide variety of requirements – from simple information pages to complex applications – a differentiated evaluation of the hosting solutions on offer is essential.
In the current web hosting test, the evaluation approaches were further developed and the measurement methodology was aligned even more closely with the actual user experience.
Further development of the measurement methodology
In order to do justice to the diversity of modern web offerings, the measurement methodology was designed to provide a comprehensive and practical performance picture.
The tests are based on realistic usage scenarios and take into account different technical requirements, such as server-side logic, database interactions and static content. This provides a balanced overall picture of the performance of the individual web hosting products in typical areas of application
Reliability and quality in practical use
In everyday life, availability, stability and short response times are among the decisive quality features of a web host.
Outages or delays have a direct impact on user experience. That is why key figures such as accessibility and response times are centrally incorporated into the evaluation in order to clearly reflect the actual performance of the services
Realistic test conditions
The test environment simulates typical everyday web tasks, including image processing, file operations and string manipulation. These practical scenarios allow for a realistic assessment of the computing power and efficiency of the servers. This reveals how reliable and high-performing the products are, even under everyday load..
Practical measurement environment through distributed test systems
The kyago platform was used for the measurements. The tests were carried out using a defined number of regionally distributed measurement systems that use different Internet accesses.
The kyago platform includes connections from all leading telecommunications providers such as Deutsche Telekom, 1&1, Vodafone and Telefónica, as well as various access technologies such as FTTH, DOCSIS and DSL.
This creates a measurement environment that realistically reflects the actual user situation.
Extensive test reveals significant differences in quality
From 20 October to 9 November 2025, zafaco conducted a comprehensive test of business web hosting providers.
A total of almost 550,000 measurements were included in the evaluation. Based on this extensive data, it was possible to conduct a detailed analysis of the quality, performance and stability of the products offered by the tested business web hosting providers.
An advanced testing methodology was used for the study, covering seven evaluation dimensions and 38 quality characteristics. This makes it one of the most comprehensive evaluation bases on the market and enables an accurate assessment of technical performance and the actual user experience..
Overview of differences between providers
