Dead zone map expanded to include 5G

The 5G test points recorded by users have now been included in the dead zone map. 5G is the successor to the 4G (LTE) standard, and relates to the fifth-generation mobile network. Use of 5G requires customers to have a 5G-compatible device.

This update has removed the old 3G test points from the map. Last year, the network operators phased out UMTS.

The downloadable data in the dead zone map is updated every three months. We plan to provide new underlying data at the start of the second quarter of 2022. Like the map, the data set will then also contain the 5G results. 3G test points will be removed from the data set.
