The wiam.tools research project is a collaboration between zafaco GmbH and the Data Networks Research Group at TH Köln’s Institute of Communications Engineering to develop an automated quality measurement system for IEEE 802.11 networks (WLAN).
The partners' goal is to create a system that performs valid WLAN measurements, which have been impossible until now due to measurement uncertainties.
This is achieved by using self-developed measuring sensors, crowd-sourced smartphone measurement apps and artificial intelligence methods.
It has now been possible to win Germany's Deutsche Bahn as project partner and reference customer.
