The Federal Network Agency has expanded its investigation of the zafaco nationwide measurement campaign. On the website www.initiative-netzqualitaet.de, until the end of June 2013, Internet users can now check if the traffic is transported at different data rates in certain applications.
The measurements are used to obtain an overview of the current status of the important aspect of network neutrality in Germany. In particular, we examine whether there are differences between suppliers, different technologies and geographical differences. For an accurate picture, the Federal Network Agency required the assistance of a great many Internet users.
Since last year, users have had the opportunity to test the speed of their broadband connection. The offer has already been taken up around half a million times.
