Digitalisation Minister Schweitzer calls for the first mobile communications measurement week in Rhineland-Palatinate

From 18 to 25 May 2024, all citizens in Rhineland-Palatinate are called upon to record the network availability of their mobile network providers using the Federal Network Agency's dead zone app.

The aim of the mobile network measurement week is to identify existing gaps in mobile network coverage. The first mobile communications measurement week in Rhineland-Palatinate is an initiative of the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Digitalisation in cooperation with the Federal Network Agency.

The broadband measurement/dead zone app, which is used during the mobile communications measurement week, was developed by zafaco GmbH on behalf of the Federal Network Agency. It is used continuously to monitor and evaluate the performance of stationary or mobile Internet access services. In addition, zafaco GmbH is also responsible for analysing the data.
