Crowdsourcing for net neutrality

With its ‘kyago – more than a speed test’, connect’s fixed network test partner zafaco has launched a new app whose name says it all: Besides being a speed test for the current network connection of a smartphone, it checks the network provider’s delivery of transparent connections and unchanged content for audio streaming, video streaming and VoIP, etc.

The test routines are compliant with BEREC (Body of European Regulators) guidelines and enable crowdsourcing analyses of net neutrality. connect will report on the test findings in a future issue.

App users not only receive reliable speed test and transparency results, they are also contributing measurement data to this project.

The kyago app is available for Android and iOS and can be downloaded from Google Play Store and Apple App Store, respectively.
