We are investigating the quality and performance of broadband networks in Austria for the fourth time, and in Switzerland for the third time – and this time around in a major test covering both countries.
In past years, the measurements conducted by zafaco in Austria and Switzerland were also taken simultaneously – even if the results were then published in two consecutive issues of connect.
We’re doing things differently this time: In 2022, we are looking at the broadband and fixed-network offers in the two German-speaking Alpine countries at the same time . As in previous years, zafaco monitored the tested networks over the entire year . With the coronavirus pandemic now in its third year , we can therefore be certain that the new requirements and usage habits resulting from home office, home schooling and the streaming boom do not mean an unfair advantage for the network operators.
In fact , all providers are handling these loads confidently – and with the new VoIP test case, our test programme also takes account of the new usage patterns in the networks.
But enough talk, let’s raise the curtain on our in-depth analysis in connect issue 10/2022.
